Join The Conservation Volunteers and Nerve Centre for a three-day nature, creativity, and heritage programme for young people aged 13-18. 

Get hands-on with nature conservation, artistic making, and citizen science from Tuesday 19th to Thursday 21st August at the Ulster Transport Museum.

On Tuesday 19th August, explore the walled garden at the Ulster Transport Museum and learn to identify and record bird species. You'll also have the opportunity to build and decorate birdboxes inspired by Northern Ireland's industrial heritage. 

On Wednesday 20th August, discover how to create vital habitats for insects and take part in a mindful recording session while learning about insects.

On Thursday 21st August, help to mark out and prepare a new wildflower area within the Ulster Transport Museum walled garden, followed by a nature-themed tote bag workshop using sustainable materials.

Root Camp is delivered by The Conservation Volunteers, Nerve Centre and National Museums NI as part of the Power Plants project.
